*Please note that some or all of these tools may be used depending on the specific needs of your horse
Kinesiology Taping
$80
Kinesiology tape manipulates and mimics the effects of massage while providing support and stability without restricting range of motion.
As the outer layer of skin is lifted it increases the space in the tissues underneath, allowing blood and lymphatic fluid to flow more easily. Waste products are washed out and new blood with nutrients and oxygen can flow, improving circulation.
Depending on the tape application it can either support or relax a muscle.
Superficial fascia, proprioceptors & mechano receptors (aiding in movement) are located directly under the skin. Through this modality we can stimulate these proprioceptors to achieve heightened body awareness and balance in your horse. Taping provides relief and unwanted pressure from pain receptors as an added way to contribute to the health, comfort and wellness of your equine partner.

In my treatments I focus on putting all the tools in motion to give your horse the best opportunity for success and living whole and healthy life
Massage -Through several different massage techniques including Effleurage, Vibration, Bowen, Crossfiber, Lymphatic, Kneading, Tapotement, Trigger Points and Flushing, we can relieve tension and release muscles, stimulate lymphatic and circulatory systems while removing stagnant blood, toxins and metabolic waste and replacing them with oxygen and nutrient rich blood.
Cranial Sacral - effective on somatic dysfunction (body frame work system) can include muscular, skeletal, nervous and lymphatic systems. Aims to clear any blockages in the cerebral
spinal fluid to maintain proper rhythm throughout the cranium, sternum and sacrum. The giving force (energy, vitality, rhythm) that moves the fluid removes the blockages and enhances the body's ability to heal. The cerebral fluid is the nutrition of the CNS and infiltrates into all parts of the body-connective tissues, deep fascia layers, muscles, ligaments, tendons etc.
Osteopathy - Focuses on the whole body; muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones, and nerve innervation to positively effect the nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems. Knowing what
nerve innervates which muscle and organ is important for a better understanding what is going on and what tools are necessary to correct. For example, the vagal nerve innervates the stomach-controls the stomach, so if you have a stressed out horse, that vagal nerve is going to shut off digestion (fight or flight response) and then start pumping stress hormones (cortisol, epinephrine, norepinephrine, aldosterone etc.) through the horses body. This will stress out the kidneys which is the filtration system (when filtration system isn't working you will have an acidic horse because they can't expel the excess hydrogen ions) and it will be a domino effect throughout. Knowing this we can target where the problem originates get that horse out of fight/flight mode and help strengthen and relax the vagal nerve, get digestion back on track and hydrate to the get ph levels back on track.

Fascia -The fascial system is a body wide connective tissue matrix. This matrix provides structural support to all the body's tissues and organs. It also has communicating pathways within and between the tissues and organs. The most abundant cellular component of fascia is fibroblasts which are under endocrine control (the endocrine system is a messenger system comprising loops of hormones).
It has been shown that strain and pressure applied to fascia stimulates proliferation of fibroblasts and causes them to to originate along the same stress lines as the direction of applied force. This implies that mechanical stress placed on the body influence the overall composition and structure of the fascia causing it to adapt. The myofascia which surrounds the muscles and superficial fascia acts like a sleeve around the muscle and can become tight as the fascia has contractile properties. The fibroblasts can change the fascial tension by quickly changing their shape to support the body. Myofibroblasts (muscle fibroblasts) can provide extra force to the tissues where needed, however if they continue to be produced can cause inappropriate stiffness. Stress has an effect fascial stiffness (because sympathetic stimuli induces fascial contractibility). Over time fascia becomes stiff and tense due to the pull on the matrix components by the myofibrolasts. Sympathetic efferent nerve endings are present in fascia, this means that there is a close connection between fascia and stress, tension and pain. Fascia is an intricate part of the musculoskeletal system and connects the skeletal, muscular, nervous, visceral and hormonal systems, keeping it healthy is essential to a happy and healthy horse.
Nutrition - Having a good diet plan is essential for the wellness and performance of your horse. What supplements are needed for the specific needs and goals, good and bad oils, herbal recipes to help with ailments, homeopathic and must have additions for a happy healthy horse.
My go-to recommendation is magnesium. Because its an essential mineral for proper nerve and muscle function, protein synthesis, regulates insulin, mediates glucose uptake and vascular tone. When a horse is deficient in magnesium they may be over reactive to stimuli (sounds, movements etc.), have physical tension, muscle pain, spasms, cramping, twitching and loss of appetite. Other issues that may be seen is a poor tolerance for work, fatigue quickly, have more lactic acid build up (therefore muscle fibbers are unable to contract) and behavioral issues due to muscle cramping as it triggers pain. Diet is the fuel for your horse, making sure that they are getting the nutrients required will ensure they are preforming and feeling their best!
Manipulations - Moving the horses body in such a way that it is able to re-adjust itself and correct "disorders"

Kinesiology Taping - Using K-tape manipulates and mimics the effects of massage at the same time providing support and stability without restricting room.
Diaphragm Work - The release of the diaphragm stimulates the phrenic nerve (which is the primary motor supply of the diaphragm, the major respiratory muscle). Getting the diaphragm to move not only improves breathing but also aids in digestion by getting the surrounding organs (liver, spleen etc.) to move for better functionality. This is important as the liver plays a big part in digestion as it has a major role in metabolism and attached to the diaphragm. The spleen needs to move to filter blood because its a blood reservoir containing platelets and white blood cells that protect the body from infection.
Acupuncture/Acupressure Acupuncture/Acupressure-Acupuncture points stimulate the CNS & PNS. This in turn releases chemicals into the muscles, spinal cord & brain. These biochemical changes stimulate the body's natural healing abilities and promote physical & emotional well
being. The needles used are bi-metallic, composed of a stainless steel shaft and a copper wound loop handle. These needles have a stronger energetic effect then those made up of metals with similar energetics and are overall more effective. Some of the benefits of acupuncture include: Stimulates neurotransmitters of the brain, increases oxygen & removes metabolic waste & toxins, increases blood flow to tissues, relieves pain, anxiety, muscle soreness and discomfort, releases emotion, helps with muscular skeletal problems (system that gives the body support and structure to let you get around), and reduces stress. Two of my favourite points is the bai hui which balances all channels, clears inflammation and allows ease in front and back connections. The second is CV-22, this point clears chest and relaxes the vagal nerve-if the vagal nerve is upset you will have a hormonal horse so this point I use often!
